nail treatments

When it comes to choosing nail treatments such as manicures and pedicures there is now so much choice on the market it is difficult to know which is best for you.

Having worked with different nail systems over the years I have now settled with shellac polish as a nail product that I find doesn’t damage or dry nails out like a lot of other products. The advantage of shellac is the fact that it will last up to 2 weeks.

The disadvantages of having acrylic and tips

Many of us suffer with weak and dry nails. This can be a genetic factor and can also be affected in the cold harsh months of winter and as a result many turn to having acrylics to achieve the look of long nails without breaking, without realising the detrimental affects to already weakened nails. With application, the natural nail is often buffed quite aggressively and once applied the maintenance can be time consuming and costly. And a vicious circle occurs when removed that the natural nail is drier and more damaged. This is why a lot of women get trapped In the cycle. I would recommend that if having problems with weak, splitting dry nails, have a regular manicure every 4 to 6 weeks and follow up with home care. Using an oil on nails will help with flexibility and dryness as will be absorbed better than just hand cream.

Nail Care

You can choose from sweet almond oil, jojoba, coconut oil or could even use olive oil if want to use what have in cupboard! Another alternative while having a manicure is to add paraffin wax to the treatment. This is also amazing when doing a pedicure. The warm paraffin wax is applied and left on for about 10 mins to really make skin smooth penetrating both skin and nails. For home care. I always advise wearing gloves when cleaning, to avoid the harsh affects of chemical cleaners. If washing hands frequently always have a hand cream to hand! And try and wear gloves when going out in the cold! Always check diet as well. Foods like salmon, foods with B vitamins, eggs can help. So now. As weather gets colder. Why not try a manicure ? to help.

And get ready for the party season with a shellac manicure for that mirror like shine and glam look for the Christmas party season.

Look out for December special offers on nail treatments.
